This week, the team had the time to build a simple application and to package it in a docker container. Then, they used Kubernetes to orchestrate the container runtime systems across a cluster of networked resources. The next step will be to build a complex architecture and adapt it to Kubernetes pipe. In parallel, a wallet management is in development with showcases. Also, a shell script to add a new node to the network should be available soon

This week, the team have been working on a new generator to automatically follow backend updates. Documentation is now synchronised with every improvement. Developers have been focused on frontends to make them more user-friendly and responsive. They coded a form generator that used backend schemas or models to speed up the process. Blocks and transactions searches have been reviewed. Navigation components will become more lightweight and faster.

This week, the team polished off the new backend API system. The latter simplifies search queries to easily cross parameters. Frontend performances had improved as it’s now possible to only ask for specific fields and not strictly the whole document. Developers also took this opportunity to build a tool that generates documentation with the available routes and the methods. Data schemas or models are detailed with the possible values of each field, for example: types, enumerations, etc.... Next week, the team will integrate a new design so they hope the prospects and clients will appreciate it.

Greetings, This week, the team was still focused on the first version of one showcase. The latter add a comparing tool between files. This feature inspired them to create a mechanism to compare transactions. Thanks to it, users will be able to clearly visualize the historic of their data. It would be like a time machine. 07/10/2022 weekly report from the Dev team This week, the team was still focused on a specific showcase. The backend should be completed next week. Unit tests have been developed in parallel with expected scenarios documentation. Therefore, non-technical people can communicate easily with the staff. Workers already know the business logic will evolute during the month, so they want to be as transparent as possible. The frontend will stay under a minimalist approach for the moment. Logical nullish assignment will simplify assertions when the component will be mounted. A pagination template has been created but need to be tested. This new showcase will be an excellent opportunity to do so.

06/24/2022 weekly report from the Dev team This week, the team has been focused on Smart Contracts and decentralized applications. Usual and subtle cases have been explored. Afterwards, link between Smart Contracts and frontend have been established. The team had tested different packages until practical and secure dependencies have been selected. Indexing and search queries are being tested. No performance troubles have been noted. The software developers want to fill the database to examine the system’s scalability. It is one of the main concern that need to be explored. An asynchronous component is under experimentation. The team want to check if a better management could make the user experience more enjoyable.

06/20/2022 weekly report from the Dev team This week, the team has been focused on Smart Contracts. Theoretical knowledge has been sufficiently accumulated to embark on two practical works. The first one was focused on smart contracts itself with a vote system. The notion to play with was the equivalent of “unique” in databases. A user can vote one time only. The second sandbox was focused on linking the frontend with the blockchain and call functions available from smart contracts. A new project with smart contracts has been initiated. The software developers want to train more with usual and subtill cases they have overcome with non-decentralized applications. Access rules, recursive relation and indexing to improve response time are few examples of the long list.

06/13/2022 weekly report from the Dev team The first objective this week has been to finalize the frontend template and to test it. The latter have been applied on two different showcase to adjust generalized tools and fill missing gapes. In the end, backend and frontend templates have been validated. Therefore, main displays are more coherent. The team will experiment Smart Contracts next week with practical works. The goal will be to test simple computer programs and evaluate their advantages, traps and limits. Software developers want to become accustomed to the events’ philosophy. Events allow programmers to write more modular and cleaner codebase, so it would be regretful to not take advantage of this functionality.

This week, the technical team has been able to focus on scalability tests. The sample project is nearly finished. The latter includes essential blockchain’s functions, but it is lighter than the official core. This way, it will be more straightforward for configurations tests. At the same time, external components have been experimented in anticipation of a future update on 20.04.4 LTS (Focal Fossa). Next week this light project will be designed for Docker and then for Kubernetes. Once the checklist will be validated, the core will also be configured for Kubernetes. This way, the team will be able to emulate a bigger network with the same hardware resources.

This week, the team has been focused on three tasks: showcase development, theoretical studies and scalability tests. A new simulation has been released. The latter is more focused on the blockchain’s security. Regarding technical studies, the team has been concentrated on tokens generation and how it could impact NeuroChain architecture. Smart contracts and NFTs are also non-negligible subjects. Concerning more practical elements, scalability tests are still in development. A sample project should be finished next week. The latter includes essential blockchain’s functions, but it is lighter than a common one. This way, it would be faster and easier to tests new Docker and Kubernetes configurations. According to the latest news we have, they could communicate after the summer. We are working with other potentials clients for traceability based on Neurochain.

04/19/2022 weekly report from the Dev team This week the team has finished the configuration for automatic transactions. Three modes are available: no random transaction, random sender and a transaction every N time. The search form has been revisited so new fields in transactions and blocks could be used as filters. Automatic tests have been added to the administration website. The supervisor is now able to send transactions, check if it is validated and packaged in blocks. Shared database functions are measured: are all data present and how much time does it take to spread elements through the nodes network? The next week will be focused on scalability tests. The team is confident it should not be a problem but NeuroChain has to show tangible proof to assert this point.

03/27/2022 weekly report from the Dev team This week has been focussed on strengthening the deploying system. Admin network configuration is linked with ansible procedure. The team wants to go further and will make scripts easily customisable. The website showcase has been revisited so “security” and “traceability” examples are more distinct. File historic has been improved so the user can trace back all the document’s changes. Finally, the core version for the LTS Ubuntu 18 is available on the branch release/1.0.0/ubuntu/lts_18/private. Next week, the version 20 will be at the center of the attention.

03/12/2022 weekly report from the Dev team This week’s main focus was on the core itself, the node configuration can be checked easily. The administration site has been updated: managing nodes is easier. As the backend and frontend architecture has been reviewed, software developers will be able to add components as if they were Legos. Managing tools and options have been improved so they can be quickly deployed to test core’s versions. Some UX efforts are planned for next week. On the pipeline process the team checked and approved the docker images for Ubuntu 18. Next week, the goal is to save a new image on the public repository. The team hopes to do the same with the Ubuntu 20 as well.

02/28/2022 weekly report from the Dev team The GitLab has still been cleaned. An automated process have been developed to free up space from canceled and failed pipelines. The next goal will be to keep compiled data from specific branches like “release” or “stable” and the last hundred images for development. On the pipeline process in itself, the docker image linked to Ubuntu 19 is no more maintained. In return, the team has assured docker images for Ubuntu 18 and Ubuntu 20 is being tested. It is a security choice, favorizing LTS (Long Term Support) versions implies OS updates for potential security problems and bugs. On the core itself, the node configuration needs to be accessed easily. The administration site will be updated next week with a new pan to setup and update it.

02/18/2022 weekly report from the Dev team : The gitlab is still being cleaned. Policies to generate new container are developed but the process to gain free space encounters “time out” so the team need to investigate... On the local network part, process and documentation have been created. The difference with the previous version is that the new one add the Gitlab server, runners and repositories. Certificates, proxies and DNS need to be configured too. A local Gitlab with its environment create a sandbox for developers so they can push changes, compile then tests their code on their local network before sending their code on the public Gitlab. With this new software development environment, improving core is the next priority for next week. In the TODO list, there is : stop random transactions, add transaction dates and output indicators for tests scenarii.

02/11/2022 weekly report from the Dev team : This week, the development team checked up the compile process : the CPP core and its packaging in a docker container. First Gitlab local server has been installed to test new compilation process. Getting dependencies rules are fixed so the same version is fetched and not the latest. Not setting this can entail failures. Moreover, clean up policies for generated containers are in development. As free space is a precious resource, only essential images version will be saved. Others will generated then discharged after a certain deadline. Finally, this new local server will help each software developer test their new feature before pushing on the public Gitlab. They can play in their own sandbox. The semi-private environment for demonstrations can then become the preprod environment.

02/06/2022 weekly report from the Dev team : For this week, the development team checked up the compile process : the CPP core and its packaging in a docker container. At first, they are focused on a local compilation to tests new features. When local tests will be approved, blockchains features and speed measurements will be saved in a report so we can compare each version and be alerted if the code is not optimized. The next step is to create a report template, find the right key performance indicators. For next week, the team will focus on transactions and how the blockchain handles massive inputs. Stopping random transactions generation is also a goal and a case that need to be checked. The final step will be to update Gitlab CI/CD and create Kubernetes process so the solution can be more easily tested and stressed. It will reassure users on its scalability.

01/30/2022 weekly report from the Dev team : For this week, the development team has been back on the core. New features have been coded but the compile process is not up to date. This work is being resumed to create different core versions so they can be easily tested. It is the first step to improve the quality process. When the compile process will be done, the first goal will be to set transaction flux and check the nodes react properly or as expected. The finality is to create automated tests so commits launch tests and the team is aware of successful (or failed) scenarii and performances indicators.

01/23/2022 weekly report from the Dev team : A new showcase is available and is focus on finding search and reporting feature. The main goal is to show the user that NeuroChain is the solution to track activity and secure every steps. Blockchain’s elements are easy to generate, secure, track, find and extract. The solution is designed to be flexible so users can save anything in a transaction: texts, images, files, etc. Admin web interface is being updated to improve UX design. For example, the database will be saved in one click and will be downloadable in one zip. Available archives will be listed so the administrator can choose which one need to be analysed or fixed by the team. More broadly, it reassures to have backups and visualize them.
